Dr. Nimisha Verma

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Nimisha Verma received her veterinary degree from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, India, and completed further credentials outlined by AVMA from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Verma grew up with pet dogs and caring for stray animals. She realized being a veterinarian was the best way to help animals at an early age and made that her goal. As a General Practitioner, Dr. Verma especially enjoys new pet wellness exams and is happy to share the family’s excitement about bringing in a new member. She has a special interest in internal medicine, pain management, preventive care, and alternate medicine. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, sports, and catching up with the latest movies and shows.

Dr. Brenda Tam
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Brenda Tam is a veterinarian with a passion for dermatology and wellness. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences and has since cultivated a diverse career. Dr. Tam has served as an Associate Veterinarian at Mount Diablo Veterinary Medical Center and Banfield Pet Hospital, gaining valuable experience in various clinical settings. Her journey also includes international volunteer work in Germany, which expanded her perspective on veterinary care.

From a young age, Dr. Tam knew she wanted to become a veterinarian, as it was the only profession she could envision herself pursuing. She brings this lifelong dedication to every patient she cares for, with a focus on improving their quality of life through tailored treatment plans.

Outside of work, Dr. Tam enjoys traveling, staying active with fitness, and nurturing her impressive plant collection. She has been happily married for 10 years and shares her home with Ecko, a 16-year-old dog adopted from the Oakland Animal Shelter. Ecko has been a loyal companion, even accompanying Dr. Tam on adventures across Europe.

Dr. Nimisha Verma
Dr. Lindsay Bess, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Bess has always been passionate about animals and the natural world! Raised in a family of medical professionals, medicine and health care were part of her day to day life. It was accordingly natural for her to want to pursue veterinary medicine! She always hoped to acquire the knowledge and obtain a level of expertise that would allow her to help animals, to be in a position to advocate for them because they cannot speak for themselves. In turn, she hoped to be able to pass this on to pet parents to help them better understand their pet’s needs and help as well! After her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, she moved to Germany where she studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. She worked in Germany in small animal general practice and emergency care until her return to the United States. While completing the AVMA’s accreditation program, she worked in the role of a technician at a small animal hospital in Oakland, CA and as a voluntary veterinarian with various community and shelter medicine programs. She is particularly interested in preventative medicine, nutrition, feline medicine, and dentistry. She is excited to join the Campus Vet Team, to meet the community, and continue to fulfill her long held aspirations!

Outside of work, she spends as much time as possible outdoors and with her family. She loves to garden, hike, bike, swim, and skateboard. She is also passionate about music. She lives in El Cerrito with her wonderful German husband and darling German cat.
