Meet Koshi! Koshi is a large Russian Blue, and doesn’t feel his age (somewhere between 17 and 20) is relevant. After many years defending his Berkeley territory and befriending his generous neighbors, Koshi retired to an indoor life of leisure with his humans, Rhyen and Chris. Enjoys: Lounging by the fire, claiming the sunniest spot on the sofa, demanding fine cuisine (both in his bowl and from yours), contributing to business calls, head scratches, and visits to/from his doting fans. Begrudgingly tolerates: Daily subcutaneous fluids and steroid pills, as they allow him to continue said life of leisure.Read More →

Meet Violet! How we met: We found Violet when she was two months old and living with a local foster family from the Sniffing Snouts pit bull rescue group. She was laid back and came with an adult-sized snore. Violet loves to play, especially with other dogs and her foster brother, Phife Dog. But she’s just as happy to be the center of attention in a roomful of people, too. A natural-born ham, we’re convinced Violet is equal parts pit bull and couch potato. We hope once she recovers from surgery that she’ll be able to chase the frisbee again at the park. Likes: —Read More →

Meet Sasquatch! A little about the big boy, Sasquatch, from his parents: How we met: As a kitten, Sasquatch came up to my friend outside a grocery store in the middle of a snowstorm and started purring and winding around her legs. He was starving and bleeding. But she already had 4 cats, and was deciding what to do when a little girl ran up and grabbed the cat in her arms. He purred louder than ever. The girl asked “Is this your cat? My mom won’t let me keep him, and I’m afraid he’s gonna DIE!” At which point my friend relented and tookRead More →

Meet Mo! Mo is a happy-go-lucky seven year old Golden Retriever who thinks the world is made up of friends and friends he hasn’t met yet. Though middle-aged by Golden standards, he is still a puppy at heart–he still has the “zoomies” around the house and yard on a regular basis, and is always inviting other dogs to play. (When he plays with small dogs, he rolls over on his back, so they can feel like they are tough and ferocious.) He loves training for competitive odedience (a dog sprot that we train in the true Golden spirit, to have fun instead of being deadlyRead More →

This month’s feature pet is Julio, a four year old Bengal kitty who is a member of the Orozco Family. Julio recently visited with Dr. Margo Reid and had his first dental procedure. While hanging out with the Campus Veterinary Clinic staff, Julio stole their hearts and the decision to make him the July Critter of the Month was unanimous. So without further ado, we present to you Julio’s Story, told in his own words: This is my story! Hi, my name is Julio and I am about 4 years old and I am “street smart” because my previous owners abandoned me, probably for health issues,Read More →

Does this sound familiar: You’ve just arrived home after a tiring day at the office and you’re greeted by a tornado of energy! Your pup is jumping, spinning, shaking his tail… he’s going absolutely berserk! You inspect the layout of the room; something feels… off. Then you notice it: the couch cushion with bite marks; someone’s ripped out the stuffing! Then you take an even closer look around the room and find your favorite leather boots, demolished. The trash bin in the kitchen has been toppled over and rummaged through, and then you get a call on your cell phone. It’s your neighbor calling toRead More →
